Galonne Pocket Watch Serial Numbers At the 12 oclock position on the case it doesnt quite seal tight.The gold plated ring on each side of the case is worn with the silver showing through. It may be possible to identify the maker from the plate and bar pattern of the movement. The movement looks like a fairly standard Swiss movement. "Remontoir 10 Rubis" on the cuvette means it's a stem wound watch with 10 (ruby) jewels. Numbers 38, - i think these are the case serial number and jointer's mark. A crown - the crown with crescent moon is the German assay mark for silverĦ. MIS N:B 18 15/4 99 - these are repairer's marksĥ. Wood Grouse and 0.800 mark - these are the Swiss assay marks for 80% purity of silver.Ĥ. If machine engraved, then probably a case serial number.ģ. "LF" is probably the mark (initials) of the casemaker. Galonne and LF - "Galonne" is a term meaning "mechanically gold plated silver", but I understand that it was never a great success because the gold plating used to wear off easily!
